If you are like me, and simply cannot justify spending 0 (or more) for a heavy duty stand mixer that you will really use only once a month, look no further. If you do use a stand mixer often, this is a good alternative for the budget-conscious, to Kitchenaid!br /br /This mixer will handle the toughest chores, including six pounds of bread dough. It isn't the same inside, as other Mixmaster stand mixers. This one has TWO motors. One for the beaters, another, at the base, drives the bowls counter to the beaters, for a more complete mixing. It also comes with three sets of attachments: Beaters, dough hooks AND whisks. Other models that look about the same do not include the whisk attachments. On this model, the bowls twist-lock onto the base rather than ride on a turntable, an important difference. It is heavy, rests on rubber feet for complete stability. It features a "soft start" which ramps to any of the selected 12 speeds quickly, as opposed to instantly, saving splashing and snow-storming.br /br /I gave it four stars instead of 5 simply because Sunbeam makes no provision for attachments. But really, how often does one need a meat grinder attachement or one for ice cream, instead of simply using the real deal?br /br /So, if you are looking for a quality, heavy-duty stand mixer, with a full two year warranty, under 0, that will stand up to anything you need to mix, this is the one for you.br /br /

I was able to score a Pro 600 on Amazon for about 5 (after rebate) and it was the best 5 I ever spent. I went back and forth between the Artisan and the Pro and I'm so glad I went with the Pro. It is louder than the Artisan, but I'm ok with that as it means it has a stronger motor.br /br /It's an amazing piece of equipment and so easy to use. I love that it has metal attachements (the Artisan has plastic) and can whip up huge batches of bread, meringue, cookies and anything you can think of.br /br /I've read reviews that say you can't beat 2 eggs in it. Well, you CAN! You just need to adjust the bowl lift attachment so the clearance between the whisk and the bowl is minimal. There are instructions in the manual. br /br /Every baker should have one of these in their kitchen!

A must for the home baker - Claudia W. McCann -
I used a 5-quart KitchenAid mixer for over 25 years and it had worked just fine. Graduating to the 6-quart however has been terrific! The difference has been remarkable for kneading bread dough, mixing batters, etc. in terms of time (it is quicker) and quality of the dough (smoother). If you are someone who has been wondering if it is worth the money to get the professional model, go for it! You will be happy you did. Just a note: the 6-quart model did not fit under my kitchen cabinet the way the 5-quart model did. Not a problem for me as I just made a few re-arrangements and am actually happier with the new locations.

This is a beautiful mixer. My 2nd KitchenAid Mixer. My other mixer is in Almond and matches the tile in my kitchen but when I saw this beauty, I had to have it. Not only does it do a magnificent job, but it is art for my kitchen. If you're an avid baker and you already have a KitchenAid but are coveting this one, treat yourself.
